In this fast-paced, ever changing world, many children are in families where both parents must work, where there may be only a single parent, or where the support and the companionship they need may be limited or missing. As a result, it is not uncommon for young people to become bored or feel separated from their community. The Pemi Youth Center began as a vision to address this: to provide a safe and caring place to go after school, on weekends, and during school vacations; to provide programming which will enable them to develop their abilities, talents and interests; and to make them feel that they are a valued member of their community.
